The harrowing and ultimately life-affirming story of Holocaust children who were
relocated and rehabilitated in the UK after World War II. It began with
uncertainty and fear in the new land, however, it eventually led to the triumph
of hope and goodwill and life-long friendship and happiness that they all
cherish.
This movie proved to us that even movies that are paying tribute and kudos to some fellas can still be a masterpiece. This was amazingly directed with beautiful writing and cinematography. This is indeed a most mature and subtle biopic I have ever seen.
The true story concerning Polish Jewish child survivors of the holocaust brought to the UK after WW2 and their adaptation to "normality". 75 years on and still revealing.
As someone who's grandparents was a Windermere child, I have no complaints and only praise to speak of this masterpiece. Will definitely be a classic and I must say, Marek Wroblewski's acting was elite and he's definitely one to watch out for. Amazing experience.
Opening
with the Allied invasion of Normandy on 6 June 1944, members of the 2nd Ranger The battalion under Cpt. Miller fights ashore to secure a beachhead. Amidst the
fighting, two brothers are killed in action. Earlier in New Guinea, a third
brother is KIA. Their mother, Mrs. Ryan, is to receive all three of the grave
telegrams on the same day. The United States Army Chief of Staff, George C.
Marshall is given an opportunity to alleviate some of her grief when he learns
of a fourth brother, Private James Ryan, and decides to send out 8 men (Cpt.
Miller and select members from 2nd Rangers) to find him and bring him back home
to his mother.
I was searching for a good WW2 movie, and then found this. Honestly, it's THE BEST WORLD WAR II MOVIE till date. It'll take you to the realistic depths of those remembering European battlefields. Very close up observation to every and each iconic World War 2 events, weaponaries, lives and sacrfices of the soldiers, whose heroism helped to lift the dark shadow from the WORLD. Normandy Landings and the last battle scene, including all scenes are WELL-CREATED. You will understand it's awesomeness when you'll see the awards it won. Tom Hanks really played a 'CAPTAIN' role. I liked the character Upham and Jackson. It creates the MOST REALISTIC ATMOSPHERE of that GREAT WAR. Words will fail to describe the ending. Hats off STEPHEN SPIELBERG.

If you are going to watch this movie for Veterans Day, just know what you are about to watch is one of the greatest war movies ever made that does not white wash an inch of war, shows every horror these heroes had to go through, and never misses a beat for emotion. SPOILER WARNING: In my opinion, the ending scene where young James Ryan is looking at Captain Miller's dead body, and then turns into an old man and then we see he is looking at the graves of thousands of fallen soldiers, is one of the greatest scenes in cinema. I just want to end by saying God bless our Veterans, God bless the Greatest Generation, and God bless America! Happy Veterans Day!

If your looking for a realistic d-day movie, this is it. This is the most realistic ww2 movie you can find. The cast wis incredible, the acting was stellar and the makeup artists deserve a medal. I’ve watched this movie thousands of times and every time I rewatch it I see something new. The settings are amazing, the sound of the weapons and the sound of the whole scene coming together when they were about to land and while they were. This movie really expresses the emotion and moral on the beach, from high to low then high again. The emotion in the whole movie together was breathtaking, with the death of beloved characters, and the entire plot of the story. I give this movie 10/10
