The
Call of the Wild is a vibrant story of Buck, a big and kindhearted dog, a crossbreed between a St. Bernard and a Scotch Collie, whose carefree life of
leisure was suddenly upset when he was stolen from his home in Santa Clara
County, California and deported up north, to be sold in Skagway, Alaska, and
taken further north, to Dawson City, Yukon, during the late 1890s Klondike Gold
Rush, when strong sled dogs were in high demand. As a newcomer to the dog team
delivery service - and not before long their front-runner - Buck, a dog like no
other, who had been spoiled, and who had suffered, but he could not be broken,
is having the time of his life. Forced to fight to survive, eventually taken by
his last owner, John Thornton, to the proximity of the Arctic Circle, somewhere
between Yukon and Alaska, he progressively depends on his primal instincts,
sheds the comforts of civilization and responds to "the call of the
wild", as master of his own.
Just saw it with my whole family ( Dog include) and have to say: It was Wonderfully Successful. The beauty of the Canada mountains, and the wilderness is something Definitely out of my dreams takes me back to literature childhood and the exciting, dangerous, inner self overcoming Resleinace that is sometimes road's life.
I've always dreamed of a wild, free adventure like that led by a super, strong Loving sweetie wolf mix dog that is Buck amazing! John throntons character adaptation is just like I imagined him to be, and quite a funny pleasure to watch. Lol!
It was rough no doubt, wouldn't be Jack London without some but I laughed, I cried, I braced myself and in the end, was left sad yes my heart hurt, but it was Awesome and I give it a Ten out of Ten.
Hurray!!

I’m done repeating what everyone is saying in the reviews. I’m going to be straight forward. Danny Mustillo from the review either below or above this one explains all necessary knowledge upon this film, the only film that has made me cry, and I’ve seen a lot of movies. It is a heart touching, all too good to be true movie where everyone can find a complex connection that no other can describe. It may venture a bit far from the novel, but it does usurp every necessary and critical point. This is a movie I recommend everyone to watch before reading the novel, as it’s driving script will make want to read the book a hundred times over and over again. I watched the movie 6 days ago and I have reread The Call of The Wild twice. That should speak for itself. God bless Jack London for the novel, and Buck and Harrison Ford for the movie, altogether making an emotional roller coaster.
